Its address on Campbell Street puts the Schooner Motel right at the very center of Tofino’s lively, pedestrian-friendly village. Just a few steps outside your door, and you can wander through an amazing collection of independent shops, from high-end surf and outdoor gear outfitters and unique art galleries exhibiting the work of local First Nations artists – like the iconic Roy Henry Vickers Gallery. The whole village is an absolute pleasure to be a part of, with a relaxed, creative, and nature-focused atmosphere.

Great dining is everywhere, starting right outside. A short walk brings you to some of Canada’s finest acclaimed restaurants. The original Tacofino food truck boasts those acclaimed fish tacos, and within minutes’ walking distance, fine food awaits at the Schooner Restaurant or Wolf in the Fog. The Tofitian Cafe is a great place to enjoy a light breakfast on baked goods, and coffee is just minutes from either the Schooner Restaur¬¬ant or Wolf in the Fog. The Co-op grocery store is also quite handy for filling up the in-room kitchenette. There’re also Co-op’s amenities sprouting up through Tofino as well.

Beautiful Tofino Inlet is just a couple of minutes’ walk away. You can walk down to the First Street dock to view the fishing boats and floatplanes come and go, or visit the main government wharf from where most of the whale watching, bear watching, and hot springs tours set out. For some nature intake without even leaving the village, the Tonquin Trail starts just a short stroll away, providing a beautiful and easy boardwalk path through the rainforest to several secluded and beautiful beaches.
